St. Louis. September 1, 2005.  In an effort to assist relief agencies in meeting the urgent, critical needs of those people affected by Hurricane Katrina, Vi-Jon and its supplier partners including, Alpha Packaging and LithoFlex Label have collaborated to make a collective donation of tens of thousands bottles of Germ-X® hand sanitizer.

Realizing that this act of nature has displaced so many and devastated our neighbors south, Vi-Jon Laboratories is supporting survivors who currently do not have access to basic necessities, including water for drinking and simple hygiene, such as hand washing.  Therefore, Vi-Jon Laboratories, the makers of Germ-X hand Sanitizer has contacted the relief organizations to donate product to support the victims.

“Vi-Jon is committed to giving back to the communities where we do business and to our neighbors in those communities—whether they are next door or several states away,” said John G. Brunner, chief executive officer and president.  “The Vi-Jon family has pledged to help make a difference to those affected by this disaster.”

The first shipment of the donated product is due to arrive at the Houston Astrodome on Monday, September 5, 2005.

St. Louis-based Vi-Jon has helped numerous organizations throughout its nearly 100-year history, from local children’s homes to military personnel stationed half-way across the world.
